Fendt 0F.1.30 – A038 - ECU, central electrical system: Warning (end position timed out)

The control module has detected that the rear wiper motor is failing to reach its designated "park" or end position within the expected time limit. This is typically caused by a mechanical bind, an obstruction on the rear window, a failed internal park switch inside the motor, or a wiring fault on the control line returning to the ECU. The wiper tries to restart.

   Visually inspect the rear wiper arm and blade for physical obstructions, heavy mud, or ice that could prevent the wiper from completing its sweep.

   Disconnect the wiper arm and check if the motor spindle rotates freely or if the arm itself is seized (mechanical binding).

   Access separation point X258 (behind the roof lining on the upper right of the rear window) and verify the motor is receiving 12 VDC on the supply line when switched ON.

   Test the control line (Pin 8, D11 Control line 31b) from the M004 motor back to the A038 Central Electrical System ECU to ensure the park signal is not open or shorted.

   Use the Fendt SERDIA service diagnostics program to read out the fault memory and test the actuator function of the rear wiper.

   Access the Motor

   Inside the cab, detach the cover panel on the upper right of the rear window/roof lining to expose the wiper motor assembly.

   Disconnect Power

   Pull forward the separation point connector (X258) behind the roof lining and disconnect it from the wiper motor.

   Remove the Wiper Arm

   On the exterior of the rear window, remove the cap, the M8 hex nut, and the spring washer. Pull the wiper arm and adapter off the motor spindle.

   Dismount the Motor

   Remove the countersunk screws (M6x16) and hex screws holding the motor's base plate and rubber plate to the cab frame. Withdraw the old M004 motor.

   Install the New Motor

   Position the new motor, ensuring the rubber seal and spacer are correctly seated. Secure the base plate with the mounting screws.

   Reconnect Wiring

   Guide the wiring through the grommet in the cab roof and reconnect the X258 separation point. Fasten any surplus cable with a cable tie to prevent rattling.

   Reinstall the Wiper Arm

   Attach the wiper arm to the spindle. Adjust the wiper blade to ensure the correct wiping angle and parking position before tightening the M8 hex nut.

   Clear Faults

   Turn on the ignition, test the wiper function, and use the tractor's terminal or SERDIA software to clear the 0F.1.30 fault code.
