Fendt 0F.2.0D – A038 - ECU, central electrical system: Direction indicator, left trailer socket faulty

An electrical issue (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power) detected on the left turn signal circuit leading to the rear trailer socket (component X018).

   Disconnect any trailer or implement plugged into the rear socket to determine if the fault is on the trailer side.

   Inspect the X018 rear trailer socket for physical damage, water ingress, packed dirt, or severe corrosion across the pins.

   Trace the wiring harness from the X018 socket back toward the A038 Central Electrical System ECU, looking for chafed wires, pinched lines, or damaged connectors.

   Test the left indicator pin on the socket for continuity to ground and verify if voltage is present when the left turn signal is commanded on.

   Use the tractor's terminal or the FENDIAS / SERDIA service diagnostics program to read live data from the A038 ECU and confirm the fault status.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent further electrical shorts during repair.

   Clean or Remove the Socket

   If the X018 socket is merely dirty, clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and a brush. If the socket is physically broken or heavily corroded, unbolt the X018 socket and its mounting bracket from the rear of the tractor.

   Repair Wiring

   If the wiring harness leading into the back of the socket is damaged, cut back the damaged section, strip the wires, and install new terminal contacts.

   Install New Socket

   Wire the new 7-pin socket according to the ISO 1724 standard, ensuring the left indicator wire is securely fastened to the correct pin. Mount the socket back onto the bracket.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and test the left turn signal. Use the tractor's terminal or FENDIAS software to clear the stored 0F.2.0D fault code from the A038 ECU memory.
