Fendt 0F.2.0E – A038 - ECU, central electrical system: Trailer socket for right indicator

The central electrical system has detected an open circuit, short circuit, or excessive resistance on the right turn signal (direction indicator) circuit leading to the rear trailer socket (designated as X018 - Rear socket).

   Isolate the tractor by disconnecting any implement or trailer plugged into the rear socket. Clear the fault code and activate the right turn signal to verify if the fault is in the tractor or the implement.

   Visually inspect the rear 7-pin trailer socket (X018) for physical damage, water ingress, heavy dirt, or green corrosion on the pins.

   Perform a voltage test on the right indicator pin on the tractor's rear socket while the right turn signal is active, checking for a pulsing 12V signal.

   Inspect the wiring harness directly behind the X018 socket for chafed, pulled loose, or broken wires.

   Clean the Socket

   If the pins are simply dirty or lightly corroded, spray the socket with a high-quality electrical contact cleaner and use a terminal brush to clean the contacts.

   Disassemble the Socket

   If cleaning does not restore the connection or if the fault persists, unscrew the mounting bolts for the X018 rear socket and pull the housing apart to expose the rear wire terminals.

   Repair Wiring

   Look for a broken or corroded wire on the right indicator terminal (typically Pin 4 / 'R' on a standard agricultural 7-pin socket). Strip back the damaged wire, apply a new terminal end if necessary, and secure it back into the socket block.

   Replace the Socket

   If the socket housing is cracked, the internal terminals are heavily rusted, or the spring-loaded door is broken (allowing water in), cut the wires back to clean copper and wire in a brand-new 7-pin socket.

   Clear Codes

   Once the repair is made, turn the ignition on, navigate to the fault code menu on the Vario terminal, and clear the stored 0F.2.0E code. Test the right turn signal to ensure the code does not return.
