1.1.04

Fendt 1.1.04 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: A002 - ECU, enhanced control — Tractor Management System (TMS) checksum error.

Issue description

The system has detected a checksum error in the Tractor Management System (TMS) software parameters, meaning data stored in the module's memory has become corrupted or does not match the expected mathematical value. The TMS will cease to function and the tractor will typically default to a restricted operating mode where it can only be driven using the foot throttle accelerator.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the battery voltage and ensure the power supply and ground connections to the A002 ECU are clean and secure to rule out voltage drops.

  2. Scan for accompanying CAN bus or EDC/EMR communication faults (such as 0.0.11 or 1.1.05) which might indicate a broader wiring or communication issue.

  3. Disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes to perform a hard reset of the modules to see if the checksum error clears upon reboot.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the FENDIAS (Fendt Diagnostic System) laptop to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Perform EOL programming

Perform EOL (End-of-Line) programming to reflash the A002 ECU with the correct factory software data record for that specific tractor chassis.

  3. Verify operation

After the EOL programming is complete, cycle the key and clear the fault codes. Test drive the tractor to ensure the TMS engages properly and the 1.1.04 code does not return.

  4. Replace ECU

If the FENDIAS tool cannot communicate with the A002 ECU, or if the EOL programming fails to resolve the checksum error, replace the A002 ECU and perform EOL programming on the new unit.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • A002 - ECU, enhanced control

Varies heavily by specific tractor model, generation, and chassis serial number. Must be EOL programmed by a Fendt dealer using FENDIAS.
