1.1.07

Fendt 1.1.07 – A002 module (ECU, enhanced control / E-Box / Comfort ECU): A002 - ECU, enhanced control. Motor parameter checksum incorrect

Issue description

The system has detected a mismatch or corruption in the stored engine/motor parameters within the control unit's memory. The tractor will typically restrict functions, but driving is still possible in "emergency operating mode".

Applies to these machines

  • 411 Vario COM III
  • 412 Vario COM III
  • 413 Vario COM III
  • 414 Vario COM III
  • 415 Vario COM III
  • 712 Vario COM III
  • 714 Vario COM III
  • 716 Vario COM III
  • 718 Vario COM III
  • 818 Vario COM III
  • 820 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 900 Vario series (including COM III, 916, 920, 924, 926, 930)
  • Fendt 800 Vario series
  • Fendt 700 Vario / Favorit 700 series
  • Fendt 400 Vario / Farmer 400 series
  • Fendt 300 Vario series

Check the cause

  1. Verify the power supply to the CAN bus and the A002 E-Box. Check the main fuse board (A013), specifically inspecting fuses F039, F040, F041, and F046, as voltage drops can cause memory/checksum faults.

  2. Ensure there are no communication interruptions between the EDC (Engine Control Unit) and the A002 Enhanced Control ECU.

  3. Read out all codes using the Vario terminal or multi-display to confirm if there are accompanying EDC or EMR bus faults (e.g., 0.0.11 or 1.1.B0) that might indicate a wiring harness issue rather than an internal E-Box failure.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool (or Serdia for engine-specific parameters) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Navigate to programming menu

Navigate to the programming menu for the A002 Enhanced Control ECU.

  3. Perform EOL programming

Perform an EOL (End-Of-Line) programming / EOL reprogramming. This will rewrite the correct motor parameters and configuration data to the EEPROM, clearing the checksum mismatch.

  4. Cycle ignition and test drive

Cycle the ignition and test drive the tractor to ensure it exits emergency operating mode.

  5. Repair or replace E-Box

If the EOL programming fails to write, or the code immediately returns, the EEPROM inside the A002 E-Box is physically damaged. The E-Box must be removed and either sent to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility or replaced entirely.

  • Fendt E-Box / ECU, enhanced control (A002)

    339970070060

Because new E-Boxes are highly expensive and require dealer programming, a common industry practice is to send the defective A002 E-Box to specialized remanufacturers (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) who can repair the internal EEPROM and retain the tractor's original programming.
