Fendt 1.1.7E – EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) or EMR (Engine Control): Hand throttle rotary position sensor — Signal out of range

The signal from the hand throttle rotary position sensor (B035) is implausible (too high, too low, or missing), usually caused by a cable break, short circuit, or failure of the 8.5V power supply. The tractor enters a restricted operating mode (Chapter 2000 Reg.B) and limits maximum output control.

   Check the Power Supply: Test the 8.5V supply to the sensor and check Fuse 26, as a blown fuse will cause this exact out-of-range signal.

   Wiring and Harness Inspection: Trace the wiring from the B035 sensor to the ECU using circuit diagrams to look for cable breaks, chafing, or short circuits.

   Diagnostic Tool Verification: Connect the SERDIA or FENDIAS diagnostic tool (SERDIA FC: 008A) to verify if the error is active or stored.

   Access the Sensor

   Remove the control console housing to access the B035 hand throttle sensor located inside the main control console.

   Test the Sensor

   Disconnect the sensor and test the pins for the required 8.5V reference voltage and a good ground.

   Replace the Component

   If the wiring is intact and the voltage supply is correct but the signal remains out of range, the rotary position sensor itself has failed internally and must be replaced.

   Reassembly

   Install the new sensor and carefully reinstall the control console, ensuring no wires are pinched.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Use the SERDIA diagnostic tool to delete the error code. Note: If the ECU flagged an EEPROM checksum error alongside this failure, End-of-Line (EOL) programming or loading a new data record to the A002 ECU may be required.
