Fendt 1.1.7F – JOYSTICK / CAN-JOYSTICK: A034 - Driving switch (Joystick) hand throttle memory keys defective
Issue description
Indicates an electrical fault with the A034 - Driving switch (Joystick), specifically that the hand throttle memory keys are defective. It signifies a loss of CAN bus communication between the driving switch and the EST (control console). The tractor will retain the last specified engine RPM speed, and while the engine speed can still be manually changed, the memory functions will be disabled.

Check the cause
Perform a functional test to verify if the engine RPM speed can still be changed using the physical hand throttle or foot pedal to confirm the fault is isolated to the memory keys/CAN communication.
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic program and check the initialization and routing data of the A034 drive switch.
Check the wiring harness and CAN bus connections between the A002 ECU and the A034 Joystick (refer to OEM wiring diagrams Sheet 22, 23, or 29).
Attempt to run a new EOL (End of Line) programming sequence for the A034 joystick to rule out a software/memory initialization error.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the CAN bus electrical system.
Inspect Connections
Remove the side console panels to access the base of the A034 driving switch. Inspect the multi-pin connectors for bent pins, corrosion, or wire chafing.
Test Continuity
Use a multimeter to test the CAN-High and CAN-Low lines between the joystick connector and the A002 ECU.
Replace Component
If the wiring is intact and FENDIAS cannot communicate with the memory keys, the internal circuit board of the joystick has failed. Replace the A034 driving switch assembly (or the internal switch plate if servicing at the board level).
Reassembly & EOL Programming
Reconnect the battery and install the new joystick. You must run a new EOL (End of Line) programming procedure using FENDIAS to initialize the new A034 joystick with the tractor's general system.
Verification
Clear the 1.1.7F fault code and test the hand throttle memory buttons to ensure full functionality has returned.
