Fendt 1.1.9E – A002 / A004: CAN communication failure between enhanced control ECU and side control console

The system detects that the CAN connection on the enhanced control bus from the A002 module to the A004 module is faulty or disrupted. This impacts the B035 Hand Throttle Potentiometer, causing the tractor to enter a restricted operating mode (EDC or EMR fault) where the hand throttle and memorization key functions are deactivated.

   Inspect the fuses for the Side Console (A004) and the main Fuse Board (A013) with the ignition ON

   Inspect the CAN-bus wiring harness for a short circuit to earth/ground

   Perform pin-to-pin continuity testing between the EST Control Module (A002) and Side Console (A004) on pins 26 and 27 (Connectors X031 and X033)

   Physically check Connector X033 and Connector X031 for corrosion, backed-out pins, or moisture

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect battery power before repairing wiring or replacing modules.

   Resolve Power Supply Issues

   If the diagnostic checks reveal blown fuses on the A013 fuse board, replace the fuses. If the A013 fuse board itself is faulty or internally shorted, replace the fuse board.

   Repair Wiring

   If continuity testing shows an open circuit or a short to ground on pins 26 or 27 between connectors X031 and X033, repair or replace the damaged section of the CAN harness.

   Replace Faulty Modules

   If the wiring, connectors, and fuses are all intact, the fault originates from a hardware failure inside one of the modules. Replace the Side Console (A004).

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition ON, and use the SERDIA / FENDIAS diagnostic tool to clear the fault code memory and verify the hand throttle (B035) is responding.
