Fendt 1.1.9F – A002 ECU: A034 - Drive switch (memory buttons) faulty / CAN connection (enhanced control BUS) faulty.
Issue description
Indicates a line discontinuity or CAN bus communication failure between the A002 ECU and the A034 Drive Switch (the main control joystick on the side console). The tractor enters a restricted operating mode (Chapter 2000 Reg.B - EDC/EMR fault), causing the operator to lose enhanced driving features and hand throttle capabilities, meaning the tractor can only be driven using the foot throttle.

Check the cause
Check the CAN Bus power supply by inspecting fuse F047 on the A013 printed circuit board
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for line discontinuity, corrosion, or loose pins between the A002 ECU and the A034 Drive Switch
Run FENDIAS Diagnostics to verify if the A002 ECU can communicate with the A034 joystick and check for secondary Transmission or Comfort-BUS faults
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Fuse Inspection
Locate the A013 circuit board. Inspect fuse F047. If blown, replace it and test the tractor. If it blows again, there is a short in the joystick wiring.
Harness Repair
Access the side console and inspect the physical connector at the base of the A034 Drive Switch. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. Repair any chafed or broken wires leading back to the A002 ECU.
Component Replacement
If the wiring and fuses are intact but communication cannot be established, the A034 Drive Switch (Joystick) has suffered an internal failure and must be replaced.
EOL Programming
If you replace the A034 joystick, you must use the FENDIAS diagnostic program to perform an EOL (End of Line) programming/teach-in so the A002 ECU recognizes the new joystick.
Test
Clear the fault codes, start the tractor, and verify that the hand throttle and enhanced transmission functions have been restored.
