1.1.A0

Fendt 1.1.A0 – A051 - Engine Control Unit (EDC 7): Configuration mismatch with the A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7)

Issue description

Wrong engine control unit (A051), wrong EOL programming, or engine type does not match tractor type. When this fault is active, the tractor's system will enter a restricted operating mode where the engine torque is limited.

Check the cause

  1. Verify ECU Hardware: Check that the installed A051 Engine Control Unit physically matches the tractor and engine type (e.g., Deutz TCD 2012 or TCD 2013).

  2. Check Immobilizer Sync: Verify that the vehicle serial number stored in the A051 engine control unit matches the A077 Immobilizer ECU. A mismatch here can prevent transmission activation and shut down the engine.

  3. Read Sub-Faults: Use FENDIAS or Deutz SERDIA diagnostic software to check for related CAN bus communication errors (such as 1.1.A1, which indicates a faulty CAN connection between the A002 enhanced control module and the A051 ECU).

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic equipment

Connect the FENDIAS or Deutz SERDIA diagnostic laptop to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Establish communication

Establish communication with the A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7).

  3. Perform EOL programming

Perform EOL (End-of-Line) programming to write a new, correct data record to the engine control unit. Ensure the programmed engine parameters match the specific tractor chassis and engine type.

  4. Synchronize immobilizer

If the ECU was replaced, ensure the immobilizer (A077) is synchronized with the new ECU.

  5. Clear fault codes

Clear the fault codes from the memory of both the A050 (Basic control unit) and A051 (Engine control unit) using the diagnostic software.

  6. Test tractor

Cycle the key and test the tractor to ensure full engine torque is restored and the fault does not return.
