Fendt 1.1.B0 – A050 / A051: A050 - ECU, basic control unit; A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7). CAN bus communication and function restricted.
Issue description
The tractor's internal network has detected a communication failure or restriction on the CAN bus linking the basic control unit to the engine control unit. This results in restricted engine function (emergency/limp mode) and torque limitation.

Check the cause
Check the CAN bus wiring harness and connectors between the A050 Basic Control Unit and the A051 Engine Control Unit (EDC 7) for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins.
Verify that both the A050 and A051 modules are receiving proper power and ground supplies.
Connect FENDIAS or SERDIA diagnostic software to read the fault directly from the A050 and A051 modules, as confirming via the terminal display only hides the message.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the battery before servicing any ECU wiring or connectors.
Repair Wiring
If diagnostic checks revealed damaged CAN bus wiring between A050 and A051, repair the harness or replace the damaged connector pins.
EOL Reprogramming
If the wiring is intact, the official Fendt remedy is 'EOL (End-of-Line) reprogramming necessary'. Connect the FENDIAS or SERDIA diagnostic tool to the tractor.
Load Data Record
Perform the EOL reprogramming for the A050 and A051 modules to restore proper CAN communication parameters or load a new data record.
Clear Faults
Use the SERDIA diagnostic software to permanently delete the fault codes from the A050 and A051 memory.
Test Drive
Restart the tractor and verify that full engine function and torque are restored and that the fault code does not return.
