Fendt 1.2.01 – EMR (Electronic Motor Regulation) / Engine ECU: EMR Camshaft Sensor Signal Error
Issue description
Signal error from the EMR camshaft sensor indicating that the physical gap between the sensor and the camshaft sprocket is too wide, or that the cable connection to the sensor is broken.

Check the cause
Wiring Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and connector leading to the B041 camshaft sensor. Look for broken cables, chafing, or loose pins.
Sensor Gap Check: Inspect the physical mounting of the camshaft sensor. Verify that the sensor has not backed out and that the air gap between the sensor tip and the camshaft sprocket is not too wide.
Redundancy Verification: Ensure the B042 crankshaft sensor is functioning correctly, as the engine is currently relying entirely on it to maintain RPM control.
Repair steps
Locate sensor
Locate the B041 camshaft position sensor on the engine block.
Test wiring
Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector and test the wiring harness back to the EMR module for continuity to rule out a broken cable. Repair any wiring faults found.
Remove sensor
If the wiring is intact, remove the sensor retaining bolt and extract the old sensor.
Clean mounting surface
Clean the mounting surface to ensure no debris is preventing the sensor from seating fully (which would cause a 'gap too wide' error).
Install new sensor
Install the new camshaft sensor and secure it, ensuring it is seated to the factory depth specification.
Reconnect wiring
Reconnect the wiring harness.
Clear fault code
Connect the tractor to the SERDIA diagnostics tool to clear the stored 1.2.01 / B041 fault code from the EMR memory.
Verify repair
Start the engine and verify that the fault does not return and that the engine speed is read correctly.
