Fendt 1.2.05 – EMR (Engine Management Regulation) or EDC (Electronic Diesel Control): Sensor, foot throttle EMR; combi-sensor signal out of range
Issue description
The analogue voltage signal from the foot throttle rotary position sensor (B038 or B055) is either 'too high' or 'too low' (out of range), meaning the system cannot accurately determine the throttle pedal position.

Check the cause
Assess drivability to see if the tractor has switched to emergency operating mode and disabled the Tractor Management System (TMS)
Inspect the cable connections and wiring harness at the foot throttle combi-sensor (specifically PIN 3 to PIN 6 on the B055 sensor) for breaks, corrosion, or short circuits
Verify the sensor is receiving its reference voltage (8.5V or 12V depending on the model) from the A013 circuit board
Check if the sensor has drifted out of range and attempt to re-calibrate it using the tractor's onboard SERDIA diagnostics system
Repair steps
Access the Sensor
Locate the B038/B055 rotary position sensor mounted on the foot throttle (accelerator pedal) assembly in the cab.
Test the Harness
Disconnect the sensor and use a multimeter to verify continuity between the sensor connector and the EMR/EDC ECU. Repair any damaged wiring.
Re-calibrate
If the wiring is intact, reconnect the sensor. Enter the tractor's diagnostic terminal and run calibration code '4005' (or use the DEUTZ SERDIA diagnosis program on a laptop) to reset the sensor's zero and maximum values.
Replace if Failed
If the calibration fails or the fault code immediately returns (indicating the internal potentiometers are worn out), remove the mounting screws securing the sensor to the pedal shaft and replace the combi-sensor.
Final Calibration
After installing a new sensor, you must perform the end-of-line (EOL) programming by running calibration code '4005' again so the ECU learns the new sensor's voltage sweep.
