Fendt 1.2.13 – EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) control module: Voltage supply failure to the EDC control module

The system has detected a low voltage condition ("Low Battery") or a fault in the EDC control module's power supply circuit (+Ub). Depending on the severity of the voltage drop, this condition causes reduced engine operation, lack of power, unsteady engine operation, heavy smoke emission, or the engine stalling completely.

   Test the voltage of Battery 1 and Battery 2 to ensure they are holding a proper charge.

   Verify that the generator/alternator is outputting the correct charging voltage to the system.

   Check the Voltage supply +Ub circuit for the EDC control module for any cable discontinuities, loose connections, or short circuits.

   Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool, record parameters, delete failure memory, and run the tractor (engine speed 800 RPM, start seven times with 5-second intervals) to see if the fault returns.

   Resolve Power Supply Issues

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a faulty battery, failing alternator, or damaged wiring in the +Ub circuit, repair or replace those components first. Clear the codes using FENDIAS and retest.

   Replace the EDC Control Module

   If the wiring, batteries, and alternator are in good condition but the failure persists after deleting the memory with FENDIAS, replace the EDC Control Module (A021). Note: A new EDC module will require EOL (End of Line) programming to match the tractor model.

   Replace the Injection Pump

   If the EDC Control Module is replaced and the failure still persists, replace the Injection Pump.
