Fendt 1.2.14 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EDC / EMR: B055 - Sensor, foot throttle

The B055 is a rotary position combi-sensor that electronically monitors the pedal travel of the throttle pedal to convey the driver's desired torque/power. The sensor consists of two redundant potentiometers. The fault code specifically triggers when there is a break in the wiring, a short circuit, or when the signal does not match the idle sensor signal (a lack of congruence between the redundant potentiometers, specifically on PIN 3 to PIN 6). When this fault occurs, the tractor enters a restricted operating mode (limp mode), but speed can still be maintained and controlled using the hand throttle.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the 6-pin connector at the B055 foot throttle sensor for any physical breaks, corrosion, or short circuits.

   Check the 8.5 V power supply to the sensor. If faulty, trace the supply back to the A013 fuse 17.

   Verify signal congruence between the foot throttle sensor and the idle sensor.

   Connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool to read the specific sub-fault codes (FC: 000C, 000E, 000F) and clear the errors after testing.

   Remove the protective cover over the foot throttle assembly.

   The cover is secured by a couple of screws.

   Disconnect the single 6-pin electrical connector from the B055 sensor.

   Remove the 4 bolts securing the foot throttle assembly to the floor.

   Swap in the new foot throttle assembly and secure it with the 4 bolts.

   Reconnect the 6-pin electrical connector and reinstall the protective cover.

   Calibrate the new foot throttle.

   This can be carried out by the operator through the terminal using calibration code '4005'.
