   Verify Shift Lever Position: Ensure the main shift lever is in neutral, as the starter lockout will naturally prevent starting if the tractor is in gear.

   Check Fuses: Inspect the starter relay fuses in the main fuse box (e.g., Fuse holder X050, Fuse 2 - 25 Amps for the glow and starter switch).

   Inspect Relay K008: Locate the K008 relay in the cab fuse/relay panel. Check for loose seating, melted pins, or corrosion in the socket.

   Wiring Harness Test: Using a multimeter, check for continuity and short-to-ground on the wiring harness between the K008 relay socket and the A051 Engine Control Unit (referencing Fendt wiring diagram Sheet 7).

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

   Access the Relay Panel

   Open the main fuse and relay console (typically located on the right-hand side of the cab).

   Test/Replace the Relay

   Remove the K008 Starter Lockout Relay. Bench-test the relay for internal shorts or an open coil. If it fails, or if you suspect intermittent failure, replace it with a new relay.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If the relay tests fine, trace the wiring back to the EDC using wiring diagram Sheet 7. Repair any broken wires or areas where the insulation has rubbed through and shorted against the chassis.

   Reassemble and Reconnect

   Seat the new relay firmly into the socket and reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes

   Connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port. Delete the stored error codes (specifically FC:00DF and 00E0, which are associated with this fault).

   Verify Repair

   Place the tractor in neutral and attempt to start the engine to confirm the starter lockout circuit is functioning correctly.
