Fendt 1.2.35 – A022 - ECU, EMR2: Engine speed too high

Engine speed too high. This condition typically occurs during 'push' operation, such as when the tractor is driving downhill and the momentum of the machine is over-revving the engine.

   Verify operating conditions to determine if the tractor was recently operated in a 'push' condition (e.g., driving down a steep incline with a heavy load). If so, this is a normal protective response.

   Inspect the wiring harnesses and cable connections for both the B041 (camshaft) and B042 (crankshaft) sensors for breaks, chafing, or short circuits.

   Verify the gap between the B041 sensor and the camshaft sprocket, and the gap between the B042 sensor and the flywheel (too wide of a gap causes signal errors).

   Connect the Deutz/Fendt SERDIA diagnostic tool and run the 'Chapter 2000 Reg. B - EMR troubleshooting plan' to view live RPM data and confirm sensor accuracy.

   Allow automatic ECU intervention

   Under normal circumstances, no physical repair is needed. When the engine speed exceeds the safe threshold, the A022 ECU automatically brings the fuel control rod to the 'zero delivery' position.

   Slow the tractor down

   Simply slow the tractor down. When the engine speed falls below the recovery threshold, fuel control automatically passes back to the A022 ECU, and normal operation resumes.

   Replace faulty sensors

   If the code is accompanied by starting issues or a dead engine, the sensors may have failed. Replace the faulty sensor(s), re-gap them according to the engine specifications, and clear the fault codes using the SERDIA tool or the tractor's onboard terminal.
