Fendt 1.2.50 – ECU EMR2: A022, Y035 - ECU EMR2, EMR actuator ('Rotary magnet and position sensor') — Feedback fault from position sensor.

The engine control unit is receiving an incorrect or missing feedback signal from the position sensor located on the EMR actuator (the rotary magnet that controls the fuel injection rack/control rod). When this fault is triggered, the system initiates an emergency shutoff, and the engine will not start.

   Connect the Deutz SERDIA diagnostics program to the tractor to electronically test the Y035 EMR actuator.

   Physically inspect the wiring harness running from the Y035 actuator to the EMR2 ECU. Look for breaks in the wiring, short circuits to the battery, or short circuits to the earth/ground.

   Verify whether the control rod/linkage functions smoothly without binding, as mechanical resistance can cause actuator feedback deviations.

   Turn the ignition OFF.

   Turn the ignition OFF.

   Inspect and repair wiring.

   Inspect and repair any damaged wiring or loose connections between the Y035 actuator and the A022 ECU.

   Turn the ignition back ON.

   Turn the ignition back ON to see if the fault clears (the fault will sometimes disappear if the current returns to the normal allowed range).

   Load a new data record into the ECU EMR2.

   If the wiring is intact but the error persists, use the SERDIA tool to attempt to load a new data record into the ECU EMR2 (ensure you save the old data record first).

   Replace the ECU EMR2 or Y035 actuator.

   If the error still occurs after flashing/re-checking, the service manual dictates that the ECU EMR2 must be replaced. Depending on the exact point of failure found during the SERDIA test, the Y035 actuator itself may also require replacement if the internal position sensor has failed.
