Check the cause

  1. Connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool to confirm the presence of FC:0019 (Cylinder 2 injection period fault)

  2. Inspect the wiring harness between the A051 EDC 7 ECU and the cylinder 2 injector for cable breaks, chafing, or short circuits

  3. Check fuel rail pressure to ensure it is within the setpoint range, as pressure drops can trigger injection timing faults

  4. Perform a cylinder compression test or an electronic cylinder balance/misfire test via diagnostic software to isolate electrical versus mechanical issues

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical spikes before working on the EDC 7 ECU or the fuel injection harness.

  2. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks revealed a short circuit or cable break in the cylinder bank 2 wiring, repair or replace the affected section of the injector harness.

  3. Replace the Injector

If the wiring tests good, the cylinder 2 fuel injector is likely faulty and must be removed and replaced. Ensure the fuel system is kept immaculately clean during this process to prevent contamination.

  4. Reassembly and Bleeding

Install the new injector, reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors, and bleed the fuel system if required by the specific engine manual.

  5. Clear Codes and Calibrate

Reconnect the battery and connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool. Clear the FC:0019 fault code from the A051 ECU.

  6. EOL Programming

Enter the new injector's calibration code (IMA code) into the engine control unit so the EDC 7 can adjust the injection timing and duration for the new component.
