Check the cause

  1. Check the wiring harness and connectors running between the EDC 7 control unit (A051) and the cylinder 3 fuel injector for short circuits, cable breaks, or loose/corroded pins.

  2. Check the cylinder 3 fuel injector for obvious mechanical or electrical damage.

  3. Verify overall fuel system condition, including fuel pressure and filters, to ensure the injector is receiving adequate fuel.

  4. If accompanied by a misfire code (e.g., 1.2.63 / FC:0028 for cylinder 3 misfire), check the engine mechanics such as valves and pistons, or perform a compression test.

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Wiring Issues

If a break or short is found in the harness between the A051 ECU and the cylinder 3 injector, repair or replace the damaged wiring.

  2. Replace the Injector

If the wiring tests fine, the cylinder 3 fuel injector is likely faulty and must be replaced. (Note: It is often recommended by fuel system manufacturers to replace the entire set of injectors to ensure optimal engine performance and balanced atomization, though replacing just the faulty one will resolve the immediate code).

  3. Clear the Fault Code

You must use the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic software to permanently delete the error from the EDC 7 memory (Internal SERDIA Fault Code: 001A). Canceling the fault code on the tractor's terminal display only hides it from the screen.
