1.2.77

Fendt 1.2.77 – ECU: ECU Program Memory Monitoring Error

Issue description

The engine control unit (Deutz EMR2) has detected a critical internal processing and memory fault during continuous monitoring of its program memory. This condition triggers an emergency shutoff, preventing the engine from starting.

Check the cause

  1. Cycle the ignition OFF, wait a few moments, and switch it back ON to check if the error was caused by a transient voltage spike.

  2. Connect the Deutz SERDIA diagnostic software via the X810 diagnostic socket to read active fault codes and verify if the program memory is permanently corrupted.

  3. Attempt to communicate with the ECU to see if the engine's data record can still be read and saved.

Repair steps

  1. Save Existing Data

If the ECU is still partially communicative, use the SERDIA diagnostic tool to download and save the old engine data record.

  2. Disconnect Power

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts.

  3. Remove the Faulty ECU

Locate the EMR2 ECU, carefully disconnect the 25-pole wiring harness plugs, and unbolt the module.

  4. Install the Replacement ECU

Mount the new EMR2 control unit and reconnect the wiring harnesses.

  5. Program the New ECU

Connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool and flash the new control unit with the specific engine's data set (parameter settings). A blank replacement EMR2 ECU will not start the engine.

  6. Clear Codes and Test

Clear any historical fault codes and start the engine to verify the repair.
