Fendt 1.2.78 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) EMR2: A022 - ECU EMR2 — Continuous monitoring of program memory delivers an error

This fault code indicates an internal processing or memory error within the engine control unit. The ECU continuously monitors its own program memory, and this code is triggered when it detects a corruption, batch overflow, or internal hardware failure. The immediate consequence of this fault is an emergency shutoff, and the engine will not start.

   Cycle the ignition: Switch the ignition OFF, wait a moment, and then switch it back ON to see if the error reappears.

   Connect OEM diagnostic software (Deutz SERDIA or FENDIAS) to check for further internal processing errors or batch overflows in the ECU EMR2.

   If the error persists, use the diagnostic tool to load a new data record into the ECU EMR2. You MUST save the old data record before attempting to flash or reload the new data record.

   Disconnect power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure no power is running to the engine management system.

   Locate ECU

   Locate the EMR2 Engine Control Unit.

   Disconnect wiring

   Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the ECU.

   Remove faulty ECU

   Remove the mounting hardware and extract the faulty ECU EMR2.

   Install replacement ECU

   Install the replacement ECU EMR2.

   Reconnect power and wiring

   Reconnect the wiring harnesses and the battery.

   Program new ECU

   Use SERDIA or FENDIAS diagnostic software to program the new ECU (EOL programming) and load the saved data record so it correctly interfaces with the tractor's CAN bus and immobilizer systems.
