Fendt 1.2.7B – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): Break in wiring of cylinder bank 2 injector valves

The system has detected an open circuit in the electrical connection supplying the fuel injectors on the second cylinder bank, preventing proper fuel injection.

   Connect the Fendt SERDIA program to read the fault memory (FC: 009C) and check the live status of the A051 ECU and injectors.

   Visually inspect the engine wiring harness from the A051 Engine Control Unit (EDC 7) to the cylinder bank 2 injector valves for chafed wires, melted insulation, or disconnected plugs.

   Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the wiring between the ECU harness connector and the bank 2 injectors to pinpoint the exact location of the break.

   Test the resistance of the cylinder bank 2 injector valves to rule out an internal open circuit within the injector solenoid.

   Depressurize and Secure

   Turn off the tractor and remove the key. Crucial Safety Step: Wait at least 30 seconds after shutting off the engine before carrying out any work on the fuel system to allow the high-pressure lines to depressurize.

   Access the Harness

   Locate the A051 Engine Control Unit and carefully expose the wiring harness leading to the cylinder bank 2 injectors.

   Repair or Replace Wiring

   If a break or damage is found in the wiring, repair the wire using appropriate automotive-grade sealed connectors and heat shrink. If the harness is severely degraded, replace the affected injector wiring harness section.

   Replace Injector (if applicable)

   If the wiring tests good but an injector has an open internal circuit, replace the faulty injector valve. Ensure high-pressure lines are not deformed during reinstallation.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect all harnesses, ensuring the connectors are securely seated and locked to prevent future vibration-induced breaks.

   Clear Faults

   Reconnect the SERDIA diagnostic tool and execute the command to delete the error code from the A051 ECU memory.

   Functional Test

   Start the engine and use SERDIA's "Functional test" program to actuate the system and ensure the fault does not return.
