Fendt 1.2.84 (MAN EDC) – EDC Control Module (A021): B025 - EDC speed sensor signal fault
Issue description
Signal fault. The signal is statically or dynamically not plausible. The fault results in reduced power (full power flow reduced by 25-40%) and a reduced maximum speed of 1800 RPM. The system switches from injection start control to a predefined injection start characteristic. If there is a complete loss of correspondence between pump speed sensors, the engine will stop.

Check the cause
Verify the physical distance from the sensor to the flywheel to ensure it is within specification
Inspect the sensor tip for metallic chips or debris that could be causing a faulty signal
Inspect the wiring harness for disruptions or short circuits. Check Fendt Connector X172 (Pin 1: Earth, Pin 2: Signal)
Check the voltage supply and earth at the EDC Control Module (A021) using an adaptor box
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to record failure and ambient parameters, clear the failure memory, and check if the fault returns
Repair steps
Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery before working on the EDC system.
Locate the B025 EDC speed sensor.
Typically mounted near the flywheel/bell housing.
Disconnect the X172 connector and inspect the pins for corrosion or damage.
Remove the sensor and clean off any metallic shavings or debris from the magnetic tip.
Reinstall the sensor, ensuring the air gap (distance to the flywheel) is correctly set according to the specific engine's manual.
If the wiring is intact, the gap is correct, and the fault persists after clearing the codes with FENDIAS, replace the B025 EDC speed sensor.
