Fendt 1.2.85 (DEUTZ EMR) – ECU EMR2: Reference voltage 4 for the Y035 actuator is out of the permissible range

The Y035 is the EMR actuator (rotary magnet and position sensor) which is energized via Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to physically move the engine's control rod based on load requests. When this voltage falls out of the allowed range, the system triggers an error message and defaults to a substitute value of 5 VDC to maintain basic operation. The error message is designed to disappear automatically if the current returns to the normal range.

   Verify the main voltage supply to the ECU EMR2

   Switch the tractor's ignition OFF, then turn it back ON to see if the error reappears

   Connect the Deutz SERDIA diagnostic software to test the Y035 actuator's function and read live data

   Perform diagnostic checks

   Perform the diagnostic checks above, paying special attention to the voltage supply to the ECU EMR2.

   Cycle ignition

   Turn the ignition OFF and then ON.

   Verify temporary fluctuation

   If the error clears and does not return, it was likely a temporary voltage fluctuation and no further action is required.

   Replace the ECU EMR2

   If the error reappears immediately after cycling the key and verifying the wiring is intact, replace the ECU EMR2.

   Program the new ECU

   If the ECU EMR2 is replaced, the new unit will arrive blank. You must use the SERDIA diagnostic tool to back up the engine data set from the old control unit and flash it onto the new one. An unprogrammed ECU will prevent the engine from starting.
