1.2.90

Fendt 1.2.90 – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): Y094 - Actuator unit, AGR (exhaust gas recirculation)

Issue description

The system has detected a short circuit to the battery, a short circuit to earth (ground), a break in the wiring (open circuit), or a general short circuit in the actuator's electrical circuit, resulting in an engine power reduction (derate).

Check the cause

  1. Locate the Y094 actuator on the left side of the engine and inspect the wiring harness and separation point connector (X1674) for rubbed-through wires, corrosion, or disconnected pins.

  2. Verify that the mechanical linkage connecting the actuator to the exhaust flap is not seized, bent, or disconnected.

  3. Connect the Deutz SERDIA diagnostic software and check for associated specific fault codes (FC: 0045, 0046, 0047, or 0048) to confirm the electrical fault.

Repair steps

  1. Ensure the engine is stationary and the ignition is completely switched OFF.

Ensure the engine is stationary and the ignition is completely switched OFF.

  2. Disconnect the X1674 electrical connector from the Y094 actuator.

Disconnect the X1674 electrical connector from the Y094 actuator.

  3. Unhook the mechanical linkage from the actuator arm.

Unhook the mechanical linkage from the actuator arm.

  4. Unbolt and remove the defective Y094 actuator unit from the left side of the engine.

Unbolt and remove the defective Y094 actuator unit from the left side of the engine.

  5. Mount the new Y094 actuator unit and secure the mounting bolts.

Mount the new Y094 actuator unit and secure the mounting bolts.

  6. CRITICAL CALIBRATION STEP: Hook the mechanical linkage onto the new Y094 actuator unit before turning the key on.

You must hook the mechanical linkage onto the new Y094 actuator unit before turning the key on.

  7. Switch the ignition ON to calibrate the actuator.

Switch the ignition ON. The Y094 actuator will automatically move to the exhaust flap stops to calibrate its end positions. OEM WARNING: If the ignition is turned on when the linkage is not attached, the calibration will be carried out incorrectly. The incorrect calibration cannot be reset, which will ruin the new actuator.

  8. Reconnect the SERDIA diagnostic tool and delete the stored error codes.

Reconnect the SERDIA diagnostic tool and delete the stored error codes.
