Fendt 1.2.90 – ECU EMR2: Incorrect parameter (EEPROM reading, or checksum error)

The EEPROM internal memory chip has corrupted or missing data, or the module is failing to read its own memory correctly, preventing the engine from starting.

   Power Cycle: Switch the ignition OFF, wait, and then switch it back ON to check if the checksum error was a temporary glitch.

   Software Check: Connect the OEM diagnostic software (FENDIAS or SERDIA) to communicate with the EMR2 module.

   Data Record Verification: Determine if the module has completely lost its programming or if the data record is just corrupted.

   Switch the ignition OFF, then turn it back ON.

   Attempt to start the engine.

   If the engine starts and the error does not return, no further action is immediately required.

   Connect your diagnostic tool.

   Do this if the engine does not start and the error reappears.

   Attempt to load a new data record (re-flash/re-program the EEPROM) to the ECU EMR2.

   Verify if the ECU accepts the new data record.

   If the ECU fails to accept the new data record, or if the checksum error immediately returns after programming, the internal memory chip has suffered a hard failure.

   Replace the ECU EMR2.

   Program the newly installed ECU EMR2 with the correct data record for your specific tractor model.
