Fendt 1.2.92 – EDC Control Module (A021) / Pump Control Unit (A020): Engine stop via "Injected volume = 0" faulty.

This fault indicates a communication or execution failure between the engine control unit and the injection pump during the engine shutdown sequence. Normally, the Engine Control Unit (A021) sends a signal via the EDC CAN-BUS to the Pump Control Unit (A020) commanding the "Injected volume set at 0" to shut down the engine. The system will force restricted power (limp mode) or the engine may stop unexpectedly.

   Verify the EDC CAN-BUS wiring between the Engine Control Module (A021) and the Pump Control Unit (A020) for discontinuities, corrosion, or short circuits

   Check Connector X047 (Pins 24 / 27) on the Engine Control Unit A021, which sends the 'Injected volume set at 0' signal

   Verify the supply voltage (UB 15) from the ignition lock (S002) to the Engine Control module (A021) at Connector X048

   Check for accompanying CAN-BUS timeout codes (e.g., 1.2.B1) to isolate wiring/communication breaks from mechanical pump failures

   Inspect Wiring

   Trace the CAN-BUS harness between the EDC (A021) and the Injection Pump (A020). Repair any damaged wires or clean corroded connector pins.

   Test the Shutdown Signal

   Using a diagnostic adapter box and multimeter/oscilloscope, verify if the A021 module is actually outputting the shutdown signal when the ignition is turned off.

   Component Replacement

   If the wiring is intact and the EDC module is sending the signal but the pump does not respond, replace or rebuild the VP44 Electronic Injection Pump (A020). If the EDC module fails to send the signal, replace the EDC Control Module (A021).

   Reprogramming

   If the EDC Control Module (A021) is replaced, perform EOL (End of Line) reprogramming using FENDIAS / Serdia diagnostic software to pair the new module with the tractor's CAN-BUS network.
