Fendt 1.2.94 – A022 - ECU EMR2: ECU EMR2 internal processing error

The engine control unit has experienced an internal software or memory fault (such as a batch overflow, checksum error, or EEPROM reading error). The immediate consequence of this fault is an emergency shutoff, and the engine will not start.

   Switch the ignition OFF, wait a few moments, and then switch the ignition back ON to see if the internal processing error was a temporary glitch.

   Connect the SERDIA (Deutz/Fendt) diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port (X810).

   Verify if the fault is active or stored by referring to Chapter 2000 Reg. B - EMR troubleshooting plan in the Fendt service manual.

   Connect diagnostic software

   Connect the SERDIA diagnostic software to the tractor.

   Backup data record

   Save and backup the old data record (engine parameters and calibration data) currently stored on the ECU EMR2.

   Load new data record

   Load/flash a new data record into the ECU EMR2.

   Cycle ignition

   Cycle the ignition OFF and then ON.

   Test engine

   Test to see if the engine starts and if the error reappears.

   Replace ECU EMR2

   If the error persists after reloading the data record, the internal hardware of the ECU EMR2 has failed. You must physically replace the ECU EMR2.

   Program new ECU

   Install the replacement ECU and use the SERDIA tool to transfer the saved data record (or a new factory data record matching the engine number) to the new blank control unit, otherwise, the engine will not start.
