1.2.B0

Fendt 1.2.B0 – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): CAN message, no throttle pedal or outside setpoint range.

Issue description

The Engine Control Unit is not receiving a valid CAN bus signal from the foot throttle pedal sensor (Sensor B055), or the signal being received is outside the calibrated setpoint range. It can also point to a communication driver initialization error resulting in limited CAN bus communication.

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Refer to Fendt wiring diagram Sheet 36 and check the wiring harness between the foot throttle sensor (B055) and the A051 Engine Control Unit for breaks, chafing, or short circuits.

  2. Check the combination sensor connections on the foot throttle (specifically PIN 3 to PIN 6) for corrosion or loose fitment.

  3. Verify if other CAN bus communication errors are present (such as 1.1.B0 or 1.1.A1), which would indicate a broader CAN network failure rather than an isolated pedal issue.

  4. Connect to the EDC diagnostic connector (X412) to read live parameters from the engine control module to see if the pedal registers any voltage sweep when pressed.

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Wiring Issues

Repair any broken wires or clean corroded pins at the B055 throttle pedal connector and the A051 ECU separation points (X1466, X1671, X1672).

  2. Replace the Sensor

If the wiring is intact but the pedal signal remains dead or out of range, replace the B055 foot throttle pedal sensor.

  3. ECU Reprogramming

If the pedal is functioning but the CAN communication driver fails to initialize, the A051 ECU may require EOL (End of Line) reprogramming.

  4. Clear the Fault Code

Fendt 1.2.xx series EDC faults must be manually deleted from the engine control unit after the physical repair is completed. Use the SERDIA diagnostic software to clear the error (Internal SERDIA Fault Code: FC:005E).

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Accelerator Pedal Sensor (Foot Throttle Sensor B055)

    G930200020011

Potentiometer/sensor unit for the Vario accelerator pedal.

  • Engine Control Unit (A051 - EDC 7)

    EDC7UC31

Requires EOL programming via SERDIA to match the specific tractor model if replaced.
