Check the cause
Check the physical CAN bus connection between the A002 (enhanced control ECU) and the A051 (engine control unit) using the enhanced control bus circuit diagrams.
Inspect the main separation points and connectors on the A051 ECU (e.g., connectors X1466, X1671, X1672) for corrosion, backed-out pins, or moisture.
Verify that the ECU has not lost its configuration, as a wrong EOL programming state can trigger communication dropouts.
Repair steps
Repair CAN Wiring
If a break, short, or high resistance is found in the CAN wiring between the A002 and A051 modules, repair the harness or replace the damaged connector pins.
Repair or Replace ECU
If the wiring is intact but the A051 module is unresponsive, the Bosch EDC 7 unit itself may have an internal hardware failure requiring repair by a mechatronics specialist or full replacement.
Perform EOL Programming
If the A051 Engine Control Unit is replaced or if the data record was corrupted, you must perform EOL (End of Line) programming to write the correct engine parameters and configuration back to the module.
Clear Fault Codes
Once the physical repair and programming are complete, connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic software to delete the error code (Internal FC: 007C) from the system.
