Fendt 1.2.BE – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): CAN-message missing

Communication failure on the CAN bus network, specifically a loss of signal or missing data messages between the engine control unit and other tractor modules (such as the A002 EST/enhanced control module).

   Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness for breaks, corrosion, or short circuits (refer to Fendt electrical circuit diagram Sheet 36 'EDC engine control')

   Test the physical connection and wiring continuity between the A051 (Engine Control Unit) and the A002 (Enhanced Control / EST Comfort Module)

   Test the system with a known-good replacement ECU to determine if the original A051 ECU has an internal hardware failure

   Correct the Physical Fault

   Repair or replace any damaged CAN bus wiring or connectors found between the A051 and A002 modules.

   Replace the ECU (if necessary)

   If the A051 ECU is deemed defective, remove it and install the replacement unit.

   EOL Programming

   If a new ECU is installed, you must perform EOL (End of Line) programming to flash the correct engine software and data record so the engine configuration matches the tractor model.

   Clear the Fault Code

   Connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic software to the tractor and manually delete the error from the engine control unit (SERDIA delete error code FC:007E).
