Fendt 1.2.CA – EDC: Injection Controller Out of Range

This code indicates a deviation of control in the start of injection. The injection timing mechanism values are not within the specified tolerance. As a direct consequence, the system will restrict engine power and reduce RPM to protect the engine.

   Check the fuel system to ensure there is no air in the fuel lines, fuel filters are clean, and the supply pump is delivering adequate fuel

   Check the Needle Movement Sensor (NBF) for an implausible signal

   Check the EDC level converter wiring and connections between the EDC control module and the pump control unit

   Check the primary pressure and the interior pressure of the injection pump

   Verify fuel supply

   Replace the fuel filters and bleed the fuel system. Run the tractor to see if the fault clears.

   Test Needle Movement Sensor (NBF)

   Test the NBF (located on one of the fuel injectors) for proper resistance and signal output. Inspect the wiring harness connecting the NBF to the EDC for chafing or breaks. Replace the injector assembly if the sensor has failed.

   Test pump pressures

   Hook up a pressure gauge to test the internal transfer pressure of the injection pump. If the internal pressure is out of spec, the pump's timing advance piston cannot operate correctly.

   Replace injection pump

   If the fuel supply is perfect, the NBF sensor is functioning, and the wiring is intact, the fault lies within the VP44 injection pump itself. The injection pump must be removed and sent to a certified diesel shop for remanufacturing, or replaced entirely.
