Check the cause
Clear the Fault Memory: Connect the SERDIA or FENDIAS diagnostic software and attempt to delete the error.
Check for Wiring Shorts: Inspect the engine wiring harness leading to the injectors (Bank A / Injector 1-3) for chafing, bare wires, or shorts to ground/battery, which can overload the ECU's internal driver chip.
Evaluate ECU Status: If the fault code cannot be deleted and returns immediately upon cycling the key, the control unit must be replaced.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Turn off the ignition and disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical arcing.
Locate ECU
Locate the A051 EDC 7 engine control unit (typically mounted directly to the side of the Deutz engine block).
Disconnect wiring
Disconnect the main wiring harness separation points/connectors from the ECU (designated in wiring diagrams as X1466, X1671, and X1672).
Remove ECU
Unbolt and remove the faulty EDC 7 unit.
Repair or replace ECU
Option A (Repair): Send the unit to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility that can replace the burnt-out Bosch injector driver chip. Option B (Replace): Install a new or remanufactured EDC 7 control unit.
Program ECU
If a new A051 ECU is installed, use the SERDIA diagnostic tool to perform 'EOL programming' (End of Line programming) to flash the correct engine data record, torque limits, and parameters for your specific tractor chassis.
Parts you might need
(1)Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Engine Control Module (ECM)
Bosch EDC7UC31A used or new replacement module must be EOL programmed via SERDIA to match the tractor's chassis number and immobilizer/TMS system.
