Fendt 10.1.34 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: Magnetic clutch, air conditioning compressor function non-operable
Issue description
The system has detected a cable break or short circuit in the electrical circuit controlling the A/C compressor's magnetic clutch. As a result, the clutch will not engage, and the air conditioning will not blow cold air.

Check the cause
Check the power supply by verifying the fuse for the magnetic clutch is intact
Inspect wiring and connectors at separation point X342 (the electrical connector at the Y024 magnetic clutch) for a cable break, corrosion, or a short to ground between the ECU and the compressor
Check refrigerant levels (with the engine at 2,000 rpm, check if the ball is floating in the sight glass on the fluid reservoir). Low refrigerant causes the pressure switch to cut power to the clutch
Ensure the compressor V-belt is not torn and has proper tension
Repair steps
Safety First
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and allow the engine to cool.
Refrigerant Recovery
If replacing the entire compressor assembly (which is standard practice when the clutch fails), use an approved A/C recovery machine to evacuate the R134a refrigerant from the system.
Remove the Belt
Relieve tension on the accessory drive belt and remove it from the A/C compressor pulley.
Disconnect Components
Unplug the X342 electrical connector from the Y024 magnetic clutch. Disconnect the high and low-pressure refrigerant lines from the compressor (cap the lines immediately to prevent moisture ingress).
Swap the Compressor
Unbolt the old compressor from the engine block bracket. Mount the new compressor and tighten the bolts to factory torque specs.
Reassembly
Reconnect the refrigerant lines using new lubricated O-rings. Reinstall the drive belt and plug in the X342 electrical connector.
Recharge and Clear
Evacuate the A/C system with a vacuum pump to remove moisture, then recharge with the exact specified weight of R134a refrigerant and PAG oil. Clear the 10.1.34 fault code using the FENDIAS or SERDIA diagnostic tool.
