Fendt 10.1.3B – A053 - ECU, air conditioning control: A053 - ECU, air conditioning control
Issue description
Overheating protection or anti-blocking mechanism faulty. The system has detected that the HVAC blower motor is either physically jammed or drawing excessive electrical current. It can also be related to a fault in the evaporator temperature sensor.
Applies to these machines
11 machines- 922 Vario COM III
- 924 Vario COM III
- 927 Vario COM III
- 930 Vario COM III
- 933 Vario COM III
- 936 Vario COM III

- Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
- Fendt 700 Vario (COM III, SCR)
- Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
- Fendt 900 Vario (COM III, SCR)
Check the cause
Inspect the HVAC blower motor fan for physical blockages, such as heavy dust, dirt, or debris that could cause the fan to bind and trigger the anti-blocking mechanism
Test the blower motor's resistance and power supply to check for excessive current draw triggering overheating protection
Check the evaporator temperature sensor and its wiring harness for shorts or breaks
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the A038 Central electrical system ECU and the A053 Air conditioning control unit for corrosion or loose pins
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the HVAC Unit
Remove the cab roof paneling to access the main air conditioning unit (A053) and blower assembly.
Clear Debris
If the blower wheel is jammed by debris, clean the housing thoroughly and verify that the fan spins freely by hand.
Replace Faulty Components
If the motor is seized or fails the resistance test, unbolt the blower motor assembly, disconnect the 4-pin connector, and install a new OEM blower motor. If the evaporator temperature sensor is faulty, replace it.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use the Fendt terminal (or FENDIAS diagnostic software) to clear the 10.1.3B fault code.
Test Operation
Run the air conditioning system through various fan speeds to ensure the overheating/anti-blocking protection does not trip again.
