15.1.63

Fendt 15.1.63 – A050 - ECU, Basic Control Unit or A002 - Enhanced Control Module: Y064 - Suspension load pressure/lowering solenoid valve

Issue description

The suspension lowering solenoid valve is inoperable, disabling the front axle suspension lowering function.

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Manual Override / Hydraulic Test: Screw in the manual thumb screw on the Y064 valve. If the chassis lowers, the hydraulic circuit is functioning properly, indicating an electrical or coil failure.

  2. Wiring and Ground Check: Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Y064 valve, specifically checking the ground connection (Earth pin 22).

  3. Signal Testing: Verify that the ECU is sending the correct PWM signal to the valve when the suspension lowering command is activated in the cab.

  4. Coil Resistance: Test the solenoid coil for an open circuit or internal short using a multimeter.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and remove the key.

  2. Relieve Pressure

Before opening the hydraulic system, relieve the suspension pressure by screwing in the thumb screws on the Y064 (lower suspension) and Y065 (raise suspension) valves to relieve the rebound accumulator and safely lower the chassis.

  3. Access the Valve

Locate the front axle suspension control block (usually mounted near the front axle/frame).

  4. Disconnection

Unplug the electrical harness connector from the Y064 solenoid valve.

  5. Replacement

If only the coil is faulty: Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem and slide the old coil off. Slide the new coil on and secure it. If the cartridge is faulty: Unscrew the entire Y064 valve cartridge from the manifold block. Install the new valve and tighten to OEM torque specifications.

  6. Reassembly

    Reconnect the electrical harness.

  7. Calibration & Clearing

Start the tractor, navigate to the terminal, and clear the stored 15.1.63 fault code. Test the suspension raise/lower functions to confirm the repair.
