15.1.66

Fendt 15.1.66 – A002 ECU / A050 Basic Control Unit: Y012 - Solenoid valve, load suspension Actuation fault

Issue description

Actuation fault / Function non-operable. The suspension system defaults to a 'Lock' status. In tractors equipped with hydraulic handbrakes, the pressure accumulator is no longer loaded.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Farmer 400 Vario series
  • 300 Vario series
  • 500 Vario series
  • 700, 800, and 900 Vario series (including COM III, SCR, and S4 generations)
  • 1000 Vario series

Check the cause

  1. Verify the 8.5V supply from the A013 module (specifically check fuse 17 or 09, depending on the tractor model).

  2. Locate the Y012 solenoid valve and inspect the wiring harness and its separation point connector (X323) for corrosion, breaks, or loose connections.

  3. Listen for flow near the accumulator as the oil temperature rises; a faint flowing sound indicates an emptying accumulator, helping verify if the valve is stuck open or closed.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on level ground, switch the engine off, and remove the ignition key.

  2. Manual Pressure Release

Locate the suspension valve block (typically on the right side of the tractor on the central valve block, or near the front axle suspension cylinder depending on the series). Screw in the knurled-head (thumb) screw on the Y013 (lower suspension solenoid valve) to allow the chassis to lower. Screw in the knurled-head (thumb) screw on the Y014 (raise suspension solenoid valve) and the Y012 valve to relieve the rebound accumulator.

  3. Removal

Once the system is completely depressurized, disconnect the X323 electrical connector from the Y012 solenoid valve.

  4. Replacement

Unbolt and remove the faulty Y012 solenoid valve. Install the new OEM solenoid valve and torque to factory specifications.

  5. Reassembly

Reconnect the electrical harness. Back out the manual knurled-head override screws on the valves to restore normal hydraulic operation.

  6. Testing

Start the tractor, allow the hydraulic system to build pressure, and test the suspension raise/lower functions via the terminal. Clear the 15.1.66 fault code from the tractor's memory.
