18.1.07

Fendt 18.1.07 – A050 ECU (Basic control unit) or A057 ECU (Steering controller): Y085 - Steering switch-off (Autoguide) solenoid valve

Issue description

Signal fault or faulty steering wheel shut-off valve. This typically indicates a break in the electrical supply line to the pilot pressure solenoid valve, a short circuit to earth, or an internal failure of the solenoid itself. Automatic track guidance (Auto-Guide/VarioGuide) and suspension systems may be restricted or disabled.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III) (Models 919, 922, 924, 927, 930, 933, 936)

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the electrical supply line to the Y085 steering valve for breaks or chafing.

  2. Check the separation point/connector X1513 directly on the Y085 solenoid valve for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.

  3. Test the circuit for a High (A07) or Low (A78) signal fault and verify there is no short circuit in the earth of the voltage supply.

  4. Refer to Fendt circuit diagram Sheet 9 or Sheet 39 (depending on chassis number) to trace the wiring back to the A050/A057 ECU before replacing parts.

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Valve

The Y085 solenoid valve is located on the right side of the transmission, integrated into the Auto-Guide steering valve block.

  2. Access

To gain proper access to the valve block, safely lift and support the tractor, then remove the right rear wheel and the right-side transmission panel.

  3. Disconnect

Disconnect the electrical connector (X1513) from the Y085 solenoid valve.

  4. Replace

Unbolt and remove the faulty Y085 pilot pressure/switch-off solenoid valve from the Danfoss Autoguide control block. Install the new solenoid valve and ensure the O-rings/seals are seated correctly.

  5. Reassembly

Reconnect the X1513 electrical connector, reinstall the side panel, and remount the right rear wheel.

  6. Calibration/Clear Codes

Clear the stored 18.1.07 fault code from the tractor's memory using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the tractor's MFA terminal, and test the Auto-Guide system.
