18.1.08

Fendt 18.1.08 – Suspension / Auto-Guide: Y086 - Steering switch-off (Autoguide) solenoid valve

Issue description

The system has detected a 'Signal fault' or that the 'Pilot pressure valve is faulty'. The Y086 solenoid valve is responsible for disconnecting the Y087 Auto-Guide control valve from the steering servo unit.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4) (e.g., 919, 922, 924, 927, 930, 933, 936, 939)

Check the cause

  1. Test the steering hydraulics for the Auto-Guide automatic track guidance using the A059 Auto-Guide terminal.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness for damage, specifically checking the electrical separation point X1514 on the Y086 valve for corrosion, loose pins, or moisture.

  3. Measure the power supply and ground connections to the Auto-Guide components using the Fendt 8-pin adapter cable (Part No. X899.980.288.207).

  4. Verify that the pilot pressure to the valve is within specification to rule out a mechanical pilot pressure failure.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine. Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the steering and Auto-Guide circuits.

  2. Access the Valve

Remove the right rear wheel to gain access to the transmission side panel.

  3. Remove the Panel

Take off the right-side protective panel to expose the Auto-Guide steering valve block (Y087) and the steering disconnect solenoid valve (Y086).

  4. Disconnect Electricals

Unplug the electrical connector at separation point X1514 on the Y086 valve.

  5. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the Y086 solenoid valve from the hydraulic block. Have a catch pan ready to collect any residual hydraulic fluid.

  6. Install the New Valve

Lubricate the new O-rings/seals with clean hydraulic fluid. Install the new Y086 solenoid valve and torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.

  7. Reassembly

Reconnect the X1514 electrical connector. Reinstall the right-side panel and the right rear wheel.

  8. Calibration/Testing

Clear the 18.1.08 fault code from the system memory. Start the tractor, check for hydraulic leaks, and test the Auto-Guide system to ensure the steering wheel correctly disconnects during autonomous operation.
