Fendt 18.1.2A – Overall system/tractor (0000): B081 - Steering wheel sensor (360°)

This code indicates that the steering wheel sensor is faulty or is returning an invalid signal value, pointing to a potential issue with the 12V power supply circuit (A013, fuse 29). When active, the tractor's automatic track guidance (VarioGuide / Auto-Guide / RTK) will automatically switch off or fail to engage.

   Verify the 12V power supply to the sensor by checking fuse 29 and the A013 supply circuit

   Check for secondary fault code 18.1.2C, which indicates invalid calibration values in the EEPROM and means the sensor only needs recalibration, not replacement

   Rule out mechanical draft issues, such as a heavy implement pulling the tractor off-center, which can cause the steering system to generate a false signal value error

   Enter the tractor cab

   Access to the B081 sensor is exclusively via the cab interior.

   Remove the steering column cover

   Locate the B081 steering wheel sensor (360°)

   It is mounted in the intermediate piece on the steering servo unit.

   Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the faulty sensor

   Install the new sensor and reassemble the steering column cover

   Recalibrate the new steering wheel sensor

   You must recalibrate the new sensor in the EEPROM using the Fendt terminal/diagnostic tool (Calibration codes 2401 or 2403). Failing to do so will immediately trigger fault code 18.1.2C.
