Fendt 18.1.36 – Basic Control Unit (A050): Y087 - Steering valve block, Auto-Guide (or VarioGuide)
Issue description
Warning regarding FLASH, EEPROM, and software for the steering valve. This indicates a memory, software, or internal communication error within the Auto-Guide steering valve block (Y087).
Applies to these machines
11 machines- 922 Vario COM III
- 924 Vario COM III
- 927 Vario COM III
- 930 Vario COM III
- 933 Vario COM III
- 936 Vario COM III
- Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
- Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
- Fendt 700 Vario (COM III, SCR)
- Fendt 800 Vario (COM III, S4)
- Fendt 900 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)
Check the cause
Attempt to recalibrate the steering valve (Calibration code '2403').
Check the steering valve electrical supply line for breaks or short circuits (separation points X1588 and X1589).
Check the CAN bus system (passive bus). Test the total resistance (should be 60 Ohms; 120 Ohms indicates a wiring break or defective terminating resistor) and check the voltage level of CAN High/CAN Low.
Verify that there is no mechanical fault on the steering actuator or the position sensor.
Repair steps
Access the Valve Block
Safely jack up the tractor and remove the right rear wheel and the side panel to access the Y087 steering valve block on the right side of the transmission.
Depressurize the System
Ensure the engine is off and relieve all hydraulic pressure in the steering and implement lines before disconnecting any hydraulic fittings.
Disconnect Electrical & Hydraulic Lines
Disconnect the electrical harnesses at separation points X1588 and X1589. Carefully disconnect the hydraulic lines to the steering valve block, capping them to prevent contamination.
Remove and Replace
Unbolt the Y087 steering valve block from the connection plate (APLE). Install the new steering valve block and torque bolts to OEM specifications.
Reassemble and Calibrate
Reconnect all hydraulic and electrical lines. Reinstall the right rear wheel and panel. You must use the Fendt Auto-Guide Service Tool (or FENDIAS/SERDIA diagnostic software) to flash the correct firmware to the new valve and perform a full steering calibration (Code 2403).
Parts you might need
(1)Steering Valve Block, Auto-Guide (Component Y087) / VarioGuide steering valve
Always order this part using the specific tractor's chassis number, as the internal software and hydraulic flow rates differ between the 300/400 series and the heavier 800/900 series.
