Fendt 18.1.6D – Auto-Guide / VarioGuide system: Y087 - Steering valve block, Autoguide (or VarioGuide)

Actuator position greater than reference position. This indicates a mechanical fault on the steering actuator or the position sensor within the steering valve block. The actuator is extending or registering a position beyond its calibrated reference point.

   Check the electrical supply line and the wiring of the position sensor at the Y087 steering valve block for any breaks, corrosion, or short circuits.

   Inspect the steering actuator for any physical damage or mechanical faults that would prevent it from reaching neutral or cause it to exceed its reference position.

   Attempt to recalibrate the steering valve using calibration code '2403'.

   Access the Valve Block

   The Y087 steering valve block is typically located on the right side of the transmission. You may need to remove the right rear wheel and the side panel to access it.

   Inspect and Test Wiring

   Disconnect the harness at the Y087 separation points (X1588 / X1589) and test for proper voltage and continuity back to the ECU.

   Run Calibration

   Using the tractor's terminal, enter calibration code 2403 to teach the steering valve its reference positions.

   Replace the Valve Block

   If the wiring is intact and the calibration fails (or if the mechanical fault on the actuator/position sensor is internal), the Y087 steering valve block or steering head must be replaced.

   Post-Repair Calibration

   After installing a new steering valve block, you must run the 2403 calibration code again to initialize the new component.
