Fendt 18.1.7F – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Y087 - Steering valve block, Autoguide.

This code indicates an EHL (Electro-Hydraulic Steering) system error. It is triggered when there is an unidentified fault in the steering valve, or when the wiring of the position sensor in the steering valve is either broken or short-circuited.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Y087 steering valve block, specifically focusing on the position sensor circuit for broken wires, chafing, or short circuits.

   Ensure the valve is receiving proper voltage (supply voltage should not drop below 10V or spike above 32V).

   Check if the steering valve has lost its calibration, which will lock out Auto-Guide functions.

   Repair Wiring

   If a break or short is found in the position sensor wiring, repair the harness and clear the codes.

   Replace Component

   If the wiring is intact, the internal position sensor or the valve itself has failed. Check the steering valve, or replace steering head.

   Perform Calibration (Code 2403)

   Park the tractor on a level surface with front wheels perfectly straight, apply the handbrake, and ensure the driver's seat switch (S053) remains loaded. Enter calibration code 2403 into the terminal and start the process (do not touch the steering wheel as wheels will move). Wait for 'OK', then turn the ignition key to the '0' (Off) position and wait at least 15 seconds to save the new calibration values to the EEPROM.
