1E.1.01

Fendt 1E.1.01 – EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) engine control unit: Input, battery, battery voltage outside setpoint range

Issue description

The supply voltage to the controller has fallen outside the acceptable 8 V to 18 V range for longer than 10 seconds, preventing the tractor from starting.

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Test battery voltage at the positive and negative terminals of the G001 battery (should be approx. 12 VDC off, 8 VDC cranking, 13.8 VDC running)

  2. Check the power supply to the EDC control module to ensure there is no system failure or voltage drop

  3. Inspect the 'Power supply +Ub' circuit and battery wiring for a short circuit to the battery or earth, or a break in the wiring

Repair steps

  1. Inspect and Clean

Inspect the G001 battery terminals and ground connections (e.g., the earth pin at the right entrance step where the battery case is located) for corrosion or loose connections. Clean and tighten as necessary.

  2. Test the Battery

Perform a load test on Battery 1. If the battery fails the load test or cannot maintain the required 12 VDC base voltage, it must be replaced.

  3. Verify Wiring

If the battery is healthy, trace the wiring harness from the battery to the EDC control module (A051) using the tractor's electrical schematic. Repair any broken wires or short circuits.

  4. Clear the Fault

Once the physical repair is complete, connect the Deutz SERDIA service diagnostics program to the tractor.

  5. Delete Error

Use SERDIA to clear the fault code (associated internal failure codes FC:0016, 0017) from the EDC memory.
