1E.1.0A

Fendt 1E.1.0A – Engine Control Unit (ECU / EDC 7 - Component A051): A039 - MFA, multifunction armrest Potentiometer, hand throttle

Issue description

A cable break or short circuit in the hand throttle potentiometer circuit (Component B035) causes an implausible signal compared to the idle sensor. The hand throttle will cease to function, and the tractor may restrict operating modes or limit torque.

Check the cause

  1. Check the wiring harness and connectors between the hand throttle sensor (B035) inside the multifunction armrest (A039) and the EDC control unit for physical breaks, chafing, or short circuits.

  2. Verify the 8.5V sensor supply voltage. A fault here is often linked to a blown fuse (check Fuse 26 or A013 fuse 17).

  3. Use the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic tool to monitor the live voltage sweep of the hand throttle potentiometer. Compare it against the idle sensor signal to confirm if the sensor has a dead spot or is completely unresponsive.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Access the MFA

Carefully disassemble the top covers of the A039 Multifunction Armrest to access the internal hand throttle assembly (B035).

  3. Repair/Replace

If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the broken wires or replace the armrest sub-harness. If the wiring and 8.5V supply are intact, remove and replace the faulty hand throttle potentiometer or the complete hand throttle lever assembly.

  4. Reassembly

Reinstall the armrest covers and reconnect the battery.

  5. Clear Codes

Connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool and delete the error (FC:008A) from the EDC memory.

  6. Calibration

You must calibrate the new hand throttle. Enter the tractor's diagnostic dashboard and run Calibration Code 4002 (Hand throttle calibration) to teach the ECU the new potentiometer's minimum and maximum values.
