Check the cause
Manually check the engine oil dipstick to ensure the engine is not critically low on oil or overheating.
Connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic tool and check for associated sub-codes FC:00C9 or FC:00CB.
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the B079 sensor for chafing, breaks, or melted insulation (refer to Circuit Diagram Sheet 21).
Disconnect the sensor and check the connector pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or poor terminal tension.
Repair steps
Preparation
Turn off the tractor, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Locate the Sensor
Locate the B079 combined sensor on the engine block (typically mounted on or near the engine oil pan/sump).
Drain Oil (If Necessary)
Place a clean catch pan underneath and drain the engine oil to prevent a spill when the sensor is removed.
Remove the Sensor
Disconnect the electrical harness connector. Unbolt or unscrew the faulty B079 sensor from the engine block.
Install the New Sensor
Clean the mating surface on the engine block. Install the new combined sensor with a new O-ring/seal and tighten to the engine manufacturer's torque specifications.
Reassembly
Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the connector clicks securely into place.
Refill Fluids
Refill the engine with the correct grade and volume of engine oil.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery. Connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic laptop and execute the 'delete error' command to clear code 1E.1.0F (and associated FC:00C9/00CB codes) from the EDC memory.
Test
Start the engine, check for leaks around the new sensor, and verify that the tractor's terminal displays accurate oil temperature and level readings without throwing a new code.
