Fendt 1E.1.13 – A051 - ECU, Engine Control Unit (EDC 7): Travel speed above setpoint range, signal fault

   Connect the Fendt SERDIA (Service Diagnostics) program to the tractor

   Use the 'Program: measured values' and 'Graphic readings' functions in SERDIA to monitor the travel speed signal input to the A051 (EDC 7) unit

   Consult the 'EDC control' circuit diagram to trace the travel speed signal wiring to the EDC7 unit

   Inspect for cable breaks, short circuits, or loose pins at the A051 connector (Connector X1466)

   Verify there are no accompanying CAN bus faults between the A051 (Engine ECU) and the A002 (Enhanced Control ECU), as communication drops can trigger A051-related signal errors

   Inspect and Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a physical wiring fault (short or break) in the speed signal circuit leading to the EDC7, repair the damaged wiring harness or connector pins.

   Clear the Fault

   If the wiring is intact or has been repaired, use the SERDIA software to clear the fault code. The specific SERDIA delete error command for this code is FC:00E8.

   Check EOL Programming

   If the fault immediately returns and the signal inputs test fine, the EDC7 may have corrupted End-of-Line (EOL) programming. The unit may need to be re-flashed with a new data record using SERDIA.

   Replace/Clone the ECU

   If the A051 EDC7 unit has suffered internal hardware failure (e.g., water damage or blown components), it must be replaced. A replacement unit must either be EOL programmed by a dealer or cloned from the original faulty unit.
