Fendt 1E.1.27 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EDC 7: G001 - Battery 1 (12 VDC)

Short circuit to the battery or a short to ground (earth). It can also trigger if the supply voltage falls outside the target range of 8 V to 18 V for longer than 10 seconds. When this fault is active, starting the tractor is not possible.

   Test battery voltage at the G001 battery terminals (should be approx. 12.8 VDC with ignition ON/engine OFF, ~8 VDC during starting, and 13.8-14 VDC when running)

   Check the 'Power supply +Ub' wiring harness between the G001 battery and the EDC control module for cable breaks, chafing, or short circuits to ground

   Inspect the battery terminals and main ground strap on the chassis (terminal 31) for corrosion or loose connections

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative terminal of the G001 battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

   Repair Wiring

   If a short to ground or broken wire was found during the diagnostic phase in the EDC power supply circuit, repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring harness.

   Replace Battery

   If the battery fails a load test or cannot maintain the required 12.8 VDC resting voltage, remove the battery case and replace the G001 battery.

   Clean and Reconnect

   Clean the battery terminals and cable clamps with a wire brush. Reconnect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal. Ensure connections are tight.

   Clear Fault Codes

   Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS / SERDIA diagnostic software and use 'SERDIA (delete error)' or 'clear fault' to restore normal starting functionality.
