Fendt 1E.1.2C – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): K065 - Starter relay

A cable break or short circuit in the starter relay circuit, resulting in the machine not starting ("Start not possible").

   Check the wiring between the A051 Engine Control Unit (EDC 7) and the K065 starter relay for any physical breaks, chafing, or short circuits to ground/battery.

   Locate the K065 starter relay and test it for proper continuity and switching operation.

   Open pin 17 (K065 starter relay) at the X1466 separation point to isolate the circuit and test for voltage.

   Verify the signal from the ignition starter switch (terminal 50a) and the S012 starter lockout switch (clutch pedal switch) to ensure the ECU is receiving the command to start.

   Check the X1440 fuse holder for blown fuses related to the starting circuit.

   Connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic tool to verify the specific failure codes (FC: 00DF, 00E0) associated with 1E.1.2C.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery via the battery disconnect switch (S092) to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Relay Panel

   Locate the K065 starter relay on the main electrical/relay board.

   Replace or Repair

   If the relay is faulty (internal short or open coil), replace the K065 relay with a new unit. If the relay is functional but the wiring is damaged, repair the broken wire or short circuit in the harness leading back to the A051 ECU.

   Reassemble and Reconnect

   Seat the new relay firmly, secure any repaired wiring looms, and reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes

   Connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool and execute the "delete error" command to clear fault code 1E.1.2C (and sub-codes 00DF, 00E0) from the EDC memory. Test the ignition to confirm the tractor starts successfully.
